Communication Log/Home Page Overview

The Communication Log (Home Page in Baseline) replaces paper-based communication logs with a centralized digital workspace for daily store operations.


This feature currently includes Task Management, but will eventually include Goal Setting and Shift Management.

Setup


Enable Lock Screen

Ensure that the Lock Screen feature is enabled by going to Settings > General > Lock Screen > Toggle On


Understanding Permissions and Views

Permissions are managed under: 

Settings -> Permissions -> Comm Log -> Update Comm Log OR Edit Comm Log


Default Settings:

  • Managers: Edit Access
  • Sales Associates: Update


Manager View Includes:

  • Edit Mode
  • Manager-only notes (not visible to other employees)


Edit Mode Capabilities

  • Create and edit announcements
  • Create and edit projects
  • Create and edit tasks



Using the Communications Log


Announcements

Announcements communicate important information employees should be aware of


Potential Use Cases

  • Promotions
  • Holidays
  • Store Updates


To create or edit an announcement:

  • While in edit mode, click + ADD ANNOUNCEMENT
  • Set the date range for visibility

This announcement will only be visible during the selected date range



KPIs

The KPI section displays standard performance metrics. The date range defaults to the selected day. This range can be adjusted.


Projects

Projects track non-daily tasks that need to be completed in the store.


Potential Use Cases:

  • Zoning
  • Markdowns
  • Cleaning Tasks


To create or edit a project:

  • While in edit mode, click + ADD PROJECT
  • Enter Project Name
  • Assign a priority
  • Optional:
    • Add a Deadline
    • Assign an Employee
    • Add a Description


How it Works

  • Overdue projects will be highlighted in red
  • The project will be displayed until it is completed



Daily Checklist

The Daily Checklist replaces paper-based opening and closing task sheets.


To create or edit a checklist task:

  • While in edit mode, click + ADD TASK
  • Enter a Task Name
  • Assign to a Shift (Opening or Closing)
  • Optional:
    • Add a Description


How it Works

  • Tasks are automatically grouped by shift
  • Employees check off tasks as completed
  • Tasks reset each day
  • Edits to tasks will be immediately applied



Rack Alerts

Rack Alerts are based on the information coming from the Rack Health Inventory Tool. These highlight the sections within your store that need the most attention because they are the emptiest and should be refilled. 


Employees can replenish sections directly from the Home Page without needing to hop into the full inventory tool. 



BaseCamp News

BaseCamp News provides updates from the franchise home office. These cannot be edited at the store level.



Notes

The Notes section allows users to record quick, shift-related information.


  • Employees can add general notes
  • Managers can add private notes (only visible to other managers)



Floor Sweep Timer

The Floor Sweep is a digital countdown to alert employees when they should perform a store walkthrough.


How it works:

  • A timer displays at the top of the home screen
  • The timer counts down from 15 minutes
  • After reaching zero:
    • The timer flashes red
    • The timer begins counting upwards



Date Selection

The date selection feature allows you to view previous days' Comm Logs. You can only view one day at a time.
